Comments:Found Jippy a couple months ago. Then kinda forgot, BUT then remebered through a Soap shoe Bombrush mod showcase. This album is amazing and might be one of his best mixes out of all 40. Really fun stuff.

Comments:It feels like im floating when listening to it, which is a given saying that its showgaze. Its a decently lengthed album, only about 40 minutes. I think its a good, I'm not that familiar with shoegaze hoping I will get me familair with it.

Earl Sweatshirt - Mar 31, 2010
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments:Well it's definitely an early OF mixtape. Not saying its a good starting point for Earl, definitely fits the OF era it's from. I mean the lyrics and topics are very edgy, fit for a 16 year old Earl to make. A lot of the lyrics are creative and funny in a way. You can listen to way better stuff from Earl though.
★School Girl Distortion Addict
Number Girl - Jul 23, 1999
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments:One of my favorite japanese albums of all time. I love the rawness in Mukai's vocals and him screaming over the instrumentals, it tends to sound like hes getting drowned out by them. The instrumentals themselves are really fucking good. A really great album that I recommend if you're into loud and noisy music.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments:His best album. His flow on this album is good as usual. I like his more rap focused albums which is most of his earlier stuff, not that there aren't tracks where he sings and shit. There's something in this era of Tyler that isn't there anymore, idk. I'm just talking to talk.
Cowpers - Jul 26, 2000
Comments: What a breath of fresh air. There's been some really good people coming out recently, and Doechii is one of them. While she isnt new this will be what brings her into the main stream. The songs are such bops and funny but yknow sad at the same time. It feels happy but when you really listen closely its you realize it isn't. Hey ya effect? Anyway I highly recommend this mixtape.
Bloodthristy Butchers & fOUL
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: Its a pretty enjoyable listen, one of the weirdest I've heard in a while. Starts off weird with the track "Lost in Time", with the vocals and overall song structure, not that its bad. One of the weirdest of them are "Legacy of Hate", certain parts of the song sound like hardcore punk but with soft and melancholic vocals. Overall I fw with it, I can see myself returning to it every once in a while.
EDIT: I LOVE THIS ALBUM HOLY SHIT. I've listened to it more and it's grown on me a lot. Its a shame that spotify doesn't have there other good albums, like birdie.

Downset.
Downset. - Jul 12, 1994
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: (The most biased review to exist) GRAHHHH I LOVE THIS ALBUM!!!! DEFINITELY IN MY TOP 5!!! To be more serious, this album is amazing. A great representation of the genre Rapcore. It's a shame most people confuse it for numetal or rap-metal. The album has alot of the tracks that have great lyrics, all of them tell a story. Like in the first track of the album "Anger", it tells the history of the la riots that happened two years prior to the album's release, it was probably a huge influence during the creation of the album. Hell, it might have even inspired the making of it. Rey Oropeza vocals are amazing. His flow when rapping the lyrics is great and the way that he can switch between rapping and yelling at the top of his lungs is very impressive. The best showing of that is in "My American Prayer", my favorite track of the album. Overall I have listened to the album more times than I can count, like multiple times a day. I will highly recommend if your into punk or nu-metal, definitely better than those unamed frauds(Ratm).
Fear of a Black Planet
Public Enemy - Apr 10, 1990
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: I mean what can I say that everyone else hasnt, the beats and lyrics as good as always with this group. My only problem with the album is that certain tracks kinda drag without anything really going on. Those tracks tend to sound the same, but they're only two like that so its not to much of a big deal. Public enemy is a very important group to the history of hiphop. I think the album is a must listen for any fan of hiphop.

Parallel Prophecy
Tashannie - Sept 28, 2000
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: I don't listen to kpop, most of the shit steals directly from black culture while doing it poorly. I feel slightly different towards Tashannie tho. I still think they take really heavy inspo from black shit. It's literally a contemporary hiphop album, but it's really fucking catchy. The sound is very upbeat and the rapping is surprisingly copetant for kpop. The vocals aren't really like poppy(?) they have a little bass to it. From my knowledge 1st gen Kpop is like this, but take that with a grain of salt. Ot also has one of my favorite songs to play in Piu.
The Love Below
Outkast - Sept 23, 2003
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: Why am I reviewing The Love Below/SpeakerBoxx seperatley? Because theyre pretty much their own albums. There's literally one crossover song other than that it's just two albums lmao. Plus the Love Below is better and I would like to dick ride it seperatly. Anyway, it's the best album from Andre. It has nice vocals, instrumentals, good humor, it got everything you would want. I could listen to this shit all day, and I do. The story that goes along with it is sooo good too. The shit he talks about in the album hits hard. YOU NEED TO LISTEN RIGHT NOW ITS LIFE OR DEATH.

Comments: It's the best Outkast album. "But you just said love below is the best one", I said best Andre album not Outkast. Big Boi is on like two song in Love Below so it's pretty much a solo project in my opinion. Anyway, amazing album. Really feels like one last hurra for Outkast.

Count Bass D - Apr 30, 2002
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: More people need to wake up to Bass D. His flow is really nice and the beats he produces complements it. Most of the songs on this album is short and sweet. I think the longest is like 3 minutes, shortest being 20 secounds. The albums is a mixed with beats he's made and songs with him rapping. He was some cool features from Edan and MFDOOM, which got me to check Bass D in the first place. I highly reccomend this album, a easy listen that might be one of the best releases from 02'.
King Giddra - Dec 10, 1995
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments:Until I found Kind Giddra and other artist, I hated Japanese rap. Before I found this kinda j-rap, the image I had of it was a bunch of scawny japanese dudes trying act black. Their music sounded like it too, some 16 year old soundcloud rappers from Atl levels of production. Then I found these guys and others that actually had good music and sounded like they respected the genre, not just wanting to fit the image of it. Nice chill rap to relax to.

Bleach 03 - 2006

Comments: Favorite kind of music that comes from japan is the stuff that's really fucking loud in everything. Pretty much the only type of music I listen to from that country other than the occassional rap and pop song. If I don't get ear damage it's not good enough, this album delivers well on that front. One of the only japanese album I own physically due to it actually getting a english release, really cool looking cd btw.

Comments: I'm a hardcore and hip-hop dude but I do have a soft spot for certain kinds of pop. I think it formed with Spice. I bought the CD as a joke since it's the girliest pop ever known to man. I kinda find it hard to find any, not that I'm really looking. My girlfriend sent me this album to ask if she should buy the cassette or not. Psychoangel - October 03, 2025

Comments: There are NO skips in this album. All of the tracks sounds unique to eachother, which I think some breakbeat artists have a problem with sounding samey. Everything flows well other than the two REST ZONE tracks, but I give that a pass because of their purpose in the album. Honestly this is the best album for people looking to get into Psychoangel. The Visitors From Deepspace
Coaltar Of The Deepers - April 21, 1994
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: The Visitors From Deepspace is the first album from COTD I've listened too. They're a band I recently found on my search of obscure jp post-hardcore. Some might argue that this is more shoegaze, but it doesn't really matter. I mean the album opens very weirdly with a death metal cover of Killing an Arab, didn't even know it was a cover before looking at other reviews honestly. Uh i'm not really sure what else to say other than this is a good album to listen to on a rainy day.
paranoia ep
goreshit - December 01, 2010
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: This is the first ep I've heard from goreshit, I didn't even know he was a dude. I thought it was some tranbian like Femtanyl because all of his fans that I've seen are one, or atleast tranbian adjacent. Anyway, go ichi carries more of the ep for me BUT I did also enjoy maromi's theme. The opening track didn't do much for me as it feels a lot like random noise with the intro to Paranoia Agent blasting in the background. The ep is good enough that I'd go onto listen to other stuff from goreshit.

Comments: Pretty standard jp post-hardcore. Loud, drowned out vocals, with soft jingly guitar. They sound like you took the instrumentals of fOUL and the vocals of Kiwiroll, so pretty good. I was surprised to find out the album came out recently and wasn't 20 years old. I guess it just shows that not much has changed in the scene sound wise.

Comments: Duke listens to his third jp shoegaze album and is blown away (again(NOT CLICK BAIT!!!)). Nice dreamlike guitar with dry mixing, the drums rip hard surprisingly for a shoegaze album. I like a total of three songs on this crap, but it's one of my most listened to albums ever. Comments: I'm not really into vocaloid, I mainly listened to this album because it was listed under "post-hardcore" which I found very curious. I wouldn't really group this into typical jp post-hardcore like KIWIROLL or Bloodthristybutchers. As mentioned before, I'm neutral on vocaloid so most of this album didn't do anything for me, in a positive or negative way. I'm sure if you're into vocaloid you'd enjoy it, as for me though? Eh.

Comments: I'm bit iffy towards the direction that femtanyl seems to be going since I really do like the Chaser era. The feel is totally different than their previous output, the crazy loud beats are gone in favor of a more mg sounding album. I wish the album was a bit more ear-rapey. I'm Not Fine, Thank You. And You?
54-71 - September 19, 2008
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Comments: This album isn't the usual that I'd expect from Japan, the closest genre is rapcore. That's not the best discriptor since it's more post-hc that actual hardcore, besides the vocals. Speaking of which, Shingo sounds like he's American. I've seen people say that he doesn't have very good pronounciation, but if you told me this album was from some random band in the L.A HxC from the 2000s, I'd believe you. Other than Shingo's great vocals, the bass is killer.
Comments: I love this album so much, it's so good. It's insane that more people don't know about Kiwiroll, they're up there with like Number Girl and Bloodthirsty Butchers. They got everything right on only their second album. Keita sounds like he's going to break into tears on every track, it adds to the feelings that the album causes.
PinkPantheress - November 10, 2025
Comments: This is a really strong first album. It's relativley simple on the vocal side, but the instrumentals are strong enough for me to not mind. This is the first album of hers I've listened to and it makes me want to hear more. Easy recommend.
